Join Us for the Elected School Board Candidate Forum!

The Far South Community Action Council (CAC) is proud to host the Elected School Board Candidate Forum on October 8th, 2024 at Chicago State University. We’re proud to partner with Illinois PTA Chicago Region, Democrats of the 6th Ward, Educational Village Keepers, and Chicago State University to bring this important event to the community.

This is a historic opportunity to engage directly with the candidates who will represent the interests of students, families, and the community in governing Chicago Public Schools (CPS).

Why This Forum Matters

This is the first time in Chicago's history that school board members will be elected by the public. For decades, the board was appointed by the mayor, but now, YOU have a say in shaping the future of CPS. Your voice is crucial in ensuring that the right leaders are elected to guide our schools and support our communities.

Who Will Be There?

Candidates from Districts 6, 9, and 10 will be present to discuss their platforms and answer your questions. You’ll also have the chance to participate in a Q&A session, giving you the opportunity to directly engage with the candidates on the issues that matter most to you.

In addition, there will be a reception where you can meet other candidates running for positions on the November 5th ballot, including judges and representatives for the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) and more.
