In the November 5, 2024, General Election, Chicago residents elected one person to represent each of the 10 new Chicago elected school board subdistricts.
Each person will serve a two-year term beginning January 15, 2025. The mayor shall also appoint one person to represent each of the 10 new Chicago-appointed school board subdistricts for 2-year terms.
The Board will transition to a fully elected governing model in 2027.
