Building Power Through Education, Partnership, and Action
The Far South Community Action Council (FSCAC) is leading a community-driven effort to improve the quality of education and family engagement across Chicago’s Far South Side. Our Strategic Education Plan (SEP) serves as our roadmap for change — rooted in data, equity, and the lived experiences of our families.
This plan reflects the voices of parents, educators, students, and community leaders who believe that every child deserves access to a great school close to home. Together, we are shaping policies, priorities, and partnerships that strengthen our schools from the inside out.

Our Vision
A unified Far South Side where families, schools, and communities work together to ensure every child receives a world-class education — academically strong, culturally affirming, and community connected.
This plan was built with the community, not for it. Through listening sessions, town halls, and school-based meetings, we gathered feedback to ensure that every goal reflects real neighborhood priorities.
We invite parents, educators, and community members to stay involved as we update our plan, track progress, and hold ourselves accountable to the vision we share.
